Anne Wright is a graduate of the Arts in Education program at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Four years with Studio In A School has given her experience working with visual art based non-profit programs in New York City, supporting artist educators and art specialists, and building collaborative communities in public city schools.
Her primary research at Harvard has focused on how to use technology effectively in arts learning, creating an exciting and engaging environment for learners. Her research includes assessing the qualities of engagement of museum visitors using mobile technology in the gallery. This research led her to an internship with SCVNGR, a local location-based mobile gaming company whose platform can be used in museum spaces for visitors to interact with objects. Her time there allowed her to research prominent theories of learning in informal spaces and what elements must be used in programming or through mobile technology to create opportunities for deep, substantive learning.
